Hermann-Hesse-Höri Museum

The Hermann-Hesse-Haus, the former living and working place of the poet in the years 1904-1907, is the only authentic Hesse living quarters open to the public. The writing desk of the poet was returned to the former study in 1995. The Höri-Museum contains galleries of paintings by Höri artists such as Otto Dix, Erich Heckel etc., an exhibition on the life and work of Hesse during his time in Gaienhofen and the section devoted to the "Literature landscape of Höri". In the upper level one will find the lake dwelling section. Both institutions also show special exhibitions.
