The Lake Constance cycle path along the Western side of the lake leads through stunningly beautiful landscape, which also fascinated Otto Dix and Hermann Hesse. The volcanic Hegau mountains, Europe’s largest waterfall and many Medieval village and towns ensure that this trip will be an unforgettable one.
Day 1
Individual Arrival in Konstanz
Take the chance today to visit the flower island Mainau, the fifth season of Lake Constance, or enjoy a ramble through the well preserved old part of Konstanz with the council building, the cathedral, the winding laneways of Niederburg and the Mediterranean Harbour with the famous statue of „Imperia“. Peter Lenk created this controversial monument, for the prostitutes during the time of the Konstanz Council, where between 1414 and 1418 the only meetings of the church north of the Alps occurred. Overnight stay in / near Konstanz.
Day 2
Konstanz - Diessenhofen (ca. 37 km)
Your tour leads you away from Konstanz through picturesque Swiss fishing villages. Your first stop should be in Gottlieben where you can admire one of the most beautiful village squares in Switzerland. You cross over the Rhein at Stein am Rhein with its fresco filled houses from the middle ages and then you go on along the right hand side of the river bank through German and Swiss regions and on to Diessenhofen. End your first day of cycling  with a visit to the old town, which due to its ornate towers, church, courtyards and the covered over wooden bridge over the Rhein, is a listed historical monument.

Day 3
Diessenhofen - Rheinfall - Schaffhausen - Diessenhofen (ca. 30 km by bike, 1 hour boat trip)
Today you will cycle to Neuhausen to the imposing Rhein waterfall, where you will have plenty of time to view it. A boat will bring you directly under the surging masses of water. Then you will cycle back to Schaffhausen. The cantonal city is towered over by the Munot fort and during a stroll through the old town the many oriels will stand out. A boat will bring you back to Diessenhofen.

Day 4
Diessenhofen - Radolfzell (ca. 33 km)
After breakfast you will cycle along the Höri peninsula, which according to legend got its name from God, who as he was creating the Earth, formed this tongue of land and was so pleased with his work that he said; "Jetzt höri auf." (Now I’m going to stop).In Hemmenhofen, where Otto Dix painted and Gaienhofen, where Hermann Hesse lived for a time, there are interesting museums which remind visitors of the artistic tradition of the lake region. Along the way you will have many wonderful views over the monastic island of Reichenau and the volcanic Hegau landscape.

Day 5
Radolfzell - Konstanz (ca. 46 km)
Today the tour leads you alongside the lake to Überlingen with its well-known lakeside promenade. You will pass the baroque pilgrimage church of Birnau on the way to Uhldingen, where you will find a reconstructed lake dwelling. In Meersburg it’s worth a visit to the harbour promenade and the ancient Merowingian castle. You will cross over to Konstanz with the car ferry (not included in the price).

Day 6
Return journey or extension of stay
After breakfast your tour comes to an end. We would however be more than happy to extend your stay along the Lake Constance cycle path.
