Marienschlucht (Ravine) Bodanrück

The "Marienschlucht" Ravine is an area of natural beauty on the steep shores of Lake Constance, to the South of Lake Überlingen. Between Bodman and Wallhausen the lakeshore falls steeply towards the Lake. A stream has cut deeply into the ground here and formed the "Marienschlucht" ravine. A twisting pathway follows through the 30 m high rock faces down to the Lake.
You can reach the "Marienschlucht" ravine either by foot from Bodman (approx. 6km), from Wallhausen (approx 4km) or directly from the Forest Car-park near Langenrain, which can be found at the upper entrance to the ravine. The trip can also be elegantly undertaken by boat, which includes Wallhausen (incl. changes), Bodman, Ludwigshafen, Sipplingen and Überlingen on the way to the ravine. The "Marienschlucht" ravine is not navigable for cyclists. You can, however, leave your bike in Wallhausen, near Langenrain or in Bodman and complete the rest of the journey to the "Marienschlucht" Ravine.
