After arriving by 10 am at the latest, you can start cycling straightaway along the first stage of the trip so that you will only need two overnight stays to cycle around the entire Upper Lake.  The most famous towns along the shores of Lake Constance are dotted along your route: Constance, Meersburg, Friedrichshafen, Lindau, Bregenz and Arbon. This cycling trip is a relaxing and enjoyable one with the lake always by your side and the mountains in front of you. Guests who have further to travel to reach the starting point of the trip can book extra nights for the start or end of the trip so that they can enjoy a stress-free arrival and departure.  This tour is also suitable for those unused to cycling and can be started on any day of the week, although it is particularly suited to a weekend trip on the Upper Lake.

Day 2
Lindau

Individual Arrival, Constance - Lindau, approx. 50 km

Today you will cycle to the ferry harbour in Staad and then take the car-ferry over to the medieval town of Meersburg with its ancient Merovingian Castle and New Castle. The tour then leads you on through the winegrowing villages of Hagnau, where in 1881 the first German winegrowers’ association was founded, and Immenstaad before you arrive in the Zeppelin town of Friedrichshafen. Your journey then continues through the beautifully situated holiday towns of Langenargen and Wasserburg before you arrive in Lindau with its medieval Old Town on the island.

Day 2
Bregenz

Lindau - Rorschach/Arbon, approx. 40/50 km

Talk a stroll through the city of Bregenz which was founded in Roman times and has an excellently preserved Upper Town and the famous lakeshore theatre stage. Near Hard, you will cross over the Rhine on its way from the Swiss Alps; its delta is an important bird sanctuary. On Swiss ground you will then be able to see the Hundertwasser Hall in Altenrhein, which was the last building designed by the famous artist. You will then continue on along the lakeshore passing Horn until you arrive at the former harbour town of St. Gallen, Rorschach.

Day 3
Constance

Rorschach/Arbon - Constance, approx. 40/35 km, individual return journey home or extension of your stay

Mostly cycling directly alongside the lakeshore, you will pass through the canton of Thurgau, where many lakeside cafes tempt you to take a break with great views and good Swiss coffee.   You also have the option of staying an extra night in Rohrschach, combined with an excursion to the Appenzeller countryside. Your weekend along the Upper Lake then comes to a close and you will return home. We would, however, also be more than happy to extend your stay on the Lake.
